For Bob and Bea, living without kids meant that they could forego the usual 3 bedroom design and lavish in a spacious 15 x 17 ft room with exposed brick walls and a huge walk-in closet that overlooks the rear garden.
One unique feature of their bedroom is the European style open concept bathroom incorporated into the bedroom. “This is truly an ‘ensuite’ bathroom” says Bea, who loves the free-flow and transparency of the layout. Traditional concerns of humidity from the bathroom are effectively handled with a ventilation fan and air conditioning.”
However, Bob is quick to add that the column support structure of the building means that each floor can be reconfigured with relative ease to accommodate a different floor plan. In traditional loft buildings, its usually one big open space and the purchaser builds partitions to suit their needs. In this case, the second floor plan could be reconfigured to add a private bathroom or additional rooms. |
